Urogynecologists are subspecialty trained physicians who specialize in the care of women with pelvic floor disorders. Some of the problems urogynecologists treat frequently include:
Urinary incontinence ( loss of bladder control)
Voiding dysfunction ( inability to urinate or difficulty urinating)
Pelvic organ prolapse (droppage of the female organs), including:
  - Cystocele (dropped bladder)
  - Rectocele (dropped rectum)
  - Uterine prolapse (dropped uterus)
  - Vaginal vault prolapse (dropped vagina after hysterectomy)
  - Enterocele (dropped small intestine)
Constipation
Fecal incontinence (loss of bowel control)
Treatment options can include a variety of non-surgical and surgical therapies. The most appropriate therapy for a particular patient can only be determined after a thorough evaluation by the urogynecologist.
